The lowest retail price for Super petrol this year was Sh89 and the highest was Sh102.
Whilst the Prices for diesel went up by Sh2.44 per litre, kerosene was raised to Sh3.49 per litre placing the prices at Sh82.43 and Sh56.04 in Nairobi.
According to ERC, the fall in the price of Super petrol was as a result of the decrease in the cost of importation dropping from Sh72, 000 to Sh58, 000 between August and September.
As a matter of fact, there is a probability that the increase in the price of Kerosene and Diesel to Sh2.44 and Sh3.49, will affect household and passengers transport vehicle that greatly uses this two sources of energy.
ERC however stated that the international price of kerosene rose by 6.43% from $474.35 to $504.86 per tonne whereas diesel increased by 5.78% from $492.92 to $521.43 per ton.
