(Ecofin Agency) - The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in its National Petrol Evacuation Report revealed that as at present, Nigeria approximately 977.31 millions litres of Petrol in both its land and marine depots.
According to the report, the reserve is sufficient to last the country for about three weeks. NNPC noted that 914 truckloads of petrol was sent to petrol stations throughout country. It added that 1,939 trucks, carrying 64.04 million litres of fuel, had been removed from its seaside depots to inland depots in the country.
The report also stated that Nigeria had 321.23 million litres of petrol in its reserves onshore as well as 656.08 million litres in its offshore reserves.
Meanwhile, 13 vessels are presently awaiting authorization to release a combined capacity of 314.454 million litres of Petrol. Five of them are carrying the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC)’s products while two are releasing product which belongs to NNPC.
The remaining vessels belongs to Total, Techno Oil, Folawiyo, Matrix Energy and Rain Oil respectively, Premium Times reports.
