(Ecofin Agency) - The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is going to present two proposals at the forthcoming Doha meeting which will be held on April 17 2016 to discuss oil output cuts and freezes, OPEC sources revealed.
The first proposal involved the replacement of all steel oil barrels with plastic barrels, mainly made from crude oil as there has been approximately 1 trillion steel oil barrels in circulation, hence using a crude oil made plastic barrels to substitute them will represent a draw of supplies of about 25 to 30%.
The second proposal involves the increase of the size of barrels from the normal 42 gallon to 60 gallons. The close to 50% increase is to lower the overall world stock count by approximately the same amount over time, FXStreet news reports.
According to OPEC’s spokesman, Avab-yg B'arul, the draft plan has received large support from both OPEC and Non-OPEC producers ahead of the meeting.
