(Ecofin Agency) - The draft bill on national reconciliation in Côte d’Ivoire initiated since November 15, 2015, has been reviewed by the Ivorian Civil society organizations Forum during a validation workshop in Abidjan, L’Infodrome reveals.
The goals, the website explains, is to let civil society organizations, NGOs, political parties and other participants provide their insights and critics on the bill.
Pulchérie Gbalet (photo), the chairperson of the forum, who stressed that “the reconciliation should not be limited to just freeing prisoners”, calls for the convening of a constitutional assembly “before 2020 elections”.
Let’s remind that this workshop has been organized in a context marked by the amnesty granted to the country’s former first lady Simone Gbagbo and thanks to which she recovered her freedom. This release was perceived as an action in the framework of the national reconciliation process.
