(Ecofin Agency) - Aiming to streamline land management in Cote d’Ivoire and stop anarchic construction, Niakaramadougou’s departmental director of Ministry of Construction and Urbanism (MCU), N’guessan Yobouet, warned municipal authorities to be more vigilant.
The director asked mayors to take special care to insure the respect of administrative and legal measures related to land acquisition and exploitation, and most importantly insure provision of a definitive acquisition permit (ACD in French) before allowing construction. “I am happy to see municipal counselors express their concerns regarding anarchic constructions in the Niakara municipality. The definitive acquisition permit (ACD) is the answer to this issue,” he told AIP.
A definitive acquisition permit is a ministerial or prefectural order that validates the transfer of a State-owned land property to an individual, AIP explains.
The permit which came into effect in 2013 should rapidly integrate habits of Ivoirians who wish to preserve their land acquisitions.
