(Ecofin Agency) - Sumol+Compal, Portuguese manufacturer of non-alcoholic drinks, will launch its Angolan processing unit during the third quarter of this year. According to Portuguese media Diàrio Económico, the group will first start with fruit juice processing before moving to fizzy drinks by the middle of next year.
“The unit which will be set up in Bom Jesus in the suburbs of Luanda will start by making fruit juice under the Compral brand. We will launch the Sumol carbonated drinks in the second phase of the project, when the required equipment to implement this phase will be installed” a source working with the company confided to Diário Económico. It is worth noting that this establishment on Angolan soil is part of the expansion strategy of the group which has decided to invest on African markets.
During the current fiscal year, Sumol+Compral has increased its sales by 20% which represent some 166.4 million Euros.
