(Ecofin Agency) - Agricultural solution provider and equipment supplier, Dizengoff Nigeria Limited, has entered into a partnership with a global equipment manufacturer, Case IH, with the aim of improving farming and transforming the Nigerian agricultural sector through mechanization.
This was declared by the CEO and Country Manager of Dizengoff Nigeria, Antti Ritvonen who said that for Nigeria to be independent in food production as a country, farmers need to embrace mechanization in their farming activities.
“We are very excited to be partnering with Case IH in the area of providing quality tractors to the Nigerian farmers, as we intend to improve farming substantially as well as revolutionize the Nigerian agricultural sector through mechanization. A lot of farmers today in Nigeria still depend on hand tools such as hoes and cutlasses, which are time-consuming, laborious and very inefficient. We believe this partnership is very important to our Nigerian farmers, as it will impact positively on their production,” he told Vanguard news.
According to the company’s Commercial Manager, Tractor and Implement, Damisa Enahoro, Nigeria has the potential of becoming the food basket of Africa “and mechanization is key to achieving it. This will invariably stimulate the overall economy of Nigeria.”
