( Bühler) - The African grain industry is facing new challenges every day. The quality and standard requirements of local markets are improving. Damaged, diseased and discoloured products affects end product quality and impacts on profitability whereas foreign materials such as sticks and stones affects product value. In the non-food industry, waste represents 20% of total production costs.
Players are under pressure to improve food safety and deliver quality grains in order to compete over the long term. In the non-food industries, the pressure is on reducing waste, thus costs.
Bühler is a leading global supplier of optical sorting solutions to the food and non-food processing industries and has been at the forefront of optical sorting technology for 70 years.
The SORTEX® advanced optical sorting technology is able to cater for a wide variety of grain applications and has been purposely designed to optimise grain sorting for food (wheat, seeds, coffee, nuts, pulses, fruits, vegetables, confectionery) and non-food (plastics). The SORTEX® B™ is a kind of its own. From 2 to 7 modules, it optimises sorting performance in a flexible way, entrusted with Bühler quality and reliability.
The SORTEX® B™ enhances food safety to another level. It aligns with the current market needs and stretches it to a whole new era: 0 defects.
Technology speaking, the SORTEX® B™ embeds the latest components to make it the ultimate fine product.
The inspection system, built-in house with high resolution optic sensors detects defects and foreign material. The separation thanks to its InGaAs technology is used to separate defects with the same colour as the good product and cannot be seen in the visible spectrum. This way Bühler guaranties 100% defect detection. These are applied to food and non-food industries.
Customer satisfaction is Bühler’s priority. Its worldwide customer care organisation has the main goal to deliver the highest quality support ensuring optical sorters perform at maximum possible efficiency.
