(Ecofin Agency) - Authorities in charge of agriculture in the Jiffra locality in Morocco, South of Boujdour, are presently assessing the feasibility of a hydro-agricultural project. The project which should cover 1,000 hectares will focus on milk and vegetables production.
The MAP indicates that the project will “add value to irrigation waters, improve farmers’ revenues, generate 115 million dirham in added agricultural value, boost agricultural output (1,750 tons of milk, 600 tons of red meat and 50,000 tons of vegetables) as well as lead to the creation of 765 permanent jobs”.
The developed area will include a cow breeding farm, greenhouses and an artificial insemination unit. It will also have deep wells, a filtration and desalting station, plus a drip system. Concrètement,
