(Ecofin Agency) - Cote d’Ivoire will receive next September a delegation of Chinese experts which will evaluate the needs of the West African nation in sectors like cashew, cocoa, rice, pineapple and mangoes. The visit should contribute to the growth of the China-Cote d’Ivoire agricultural cooperation.
According to the Ivorian Minister of Agriculture, the delegation’s visit comes after a work visit by Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly to China, last July. The visit in fact permitted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the two governments to boost trade between them.
The Minister also seized this opportunity to ask that five, instead of three villages benefit from the programme entitled “One Village-One Company”. The Chinese initiative which will be carried out in 100 African villages, aims at increasing revenues of farmers from these villages.
