(Ecofin Agency) - The agricultural success-story that Côte d’Ivoire is currently experiencing attracts the interest of agricultural implements manufacturers for this market. Most recently, Japanese Satake and Kubota have indicated following a work visit on Ivorian soil that their companies would soon launch big projects in the country.
The top management of these companies is looking at the possibility of establishing their activities in Côte d’Ivoire, indicates Abidjan.net. For farmers, this arrival will contribute towards boosting the offer in terms of agricultural implements and consequently, it will contribute to a potential increase in productivity.
The result of an initiative by the Japanese External Trade Organisation (JETRO), the visit by the management of the two companies comes as the Ivorian authorities have recently disclosed their wish to improve the agricultural yields in the cotton sector.
With a revenue of USD 14.7 billion and a workforce of 33,845 employees, Kubota is one of the giant Japanese on agricultural machinery segment.
