(Ecofin Agency) - In Angola, Giasop indicated that it plans to invest this year $30 million in agricultural projects including orchards’ renovation and expansion. These cultures will supply the company’s fruit juice unit production.
According to Miji Feliciano, Giasop’s Director General, the major part of the financing will go into Fazenda Boa Fruta, a 46 hectares area, in Porto Amboim, Kwanza Sul province. Passifloras, Mango trees, orange trees, and guava trees will be grown there. Also, a new irrigation system will be established on the field.
Fazenda is located in the same district as Giasop’s plant, which can produce up to 20,000 litres of fruit juice, of various aromas, on a daily basis. Besides fruit juice, Giasop also produces 45,000 litres of milk daily, as well as yogurt, cheese and butter.
