(Ecofin Agency) - Angola has just laid the cornerstone for a training centre dedicated to commercial fishing. The infrastructure, of a total cost of USD 98 million will be located in Bela. Its construction will take 36 months, according to the Angolan minister of Fisheries Victoria de Barros Neto.
Funded through a credit line granted to Luanda by the Spanish government, this centre will replace another one, built in 1982 thanks to a Swedish financing and almost completely destroyed by floods in 2007.
According to Victoria de Barros Neto, the infrastructure will enable the creation of 70,000 direct and indirect jobs. It will host 310 boarders for a three-year training course and will have laboratories, a library and other simulators.
