Four ministers are leaving their posts, including those in charge of security and Justice.
Captain Ibrahim Traoré (photo), President of the Transition in Burkina Faso, has reshuffled his government. The information was officially disclosed in a release issued by the Presidency on Sunday, June 25.
The reshuffle sees the arrival of four new ministers. Magistrate Emile Zerbo as Minister of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security, will replace Colonel Boukaré Zoungrana.
Barrister Edasso Rodrigue Bayala succeeds Mme Bibata Nébié to head the Ministry of Justice while Major Ismaël Sombié -previously managing director of national food security agency SONAGESS- is replacing Mr. Dénis Ouédraogo as the new Minister of Agriculture.
The Ministry of the Environment, Water and Sanitation, previously headed by Mr. Augustin Kaboré, is now entrusted to Mr. Roger Barro.
The other ministerial departments remain unchanged, and the number of government members remains unchanged at 24.
This reshuffle is Captain Ibrahim Traoré's third since taking power on September 30, 2022, following the overthrow of Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Damiba.
