Sula Iron & Gold, active in Sierra Leone and DRC, changed name to African Battery Metals (ABM). The company, which started trading its shares under the new name last Wednesday, wants to focus on developing its cobalt exploration licenses (Kisinka and Sakania) in DRC.
According to Roger Murphy, its CEO, this new name “better reflects” the company's new focus and strategy to produce cobalt and others battery metals for the electric vehicle market (report of Mining Weekly). However, the company will continue to operate its Ferensola gold project due to its high gold assets in Sierra Leone.
African Battery Metals is listed on the Alternative Investment Market, London stock exchange.
