On January 15, 2018, Perseus Mining which operates the Sissingué mine in Côte d’Ivoire said that it should produce its first gold bullion earlier than expected (by the end of this month). The company explained that on Saturday 13, 2018, it started stocking milled ore in the leaching plant. This indicates the imminent conclusion of the commissioning phase.
“The introduction of milled ore in the Sissingué plant on Saturday was a crucial stage in the production process of the second mine we exploit. We look forward […] to seeing Sissingué mine reach full production and a positive cash flow by the end of March”, said Jeff Quartermaine, CEO of Perseus.
The mining company plan to produce 358,000 ounces of gold with an average of 70,000 ounces produced annually. In addition to that project, the company also operates the Yaouré gold project in Côte d’Ivoire and Edikan mine in Ghana.
