(Ecofin Agency) - Started last July 11, the sensitization campaign on Act 98-750 December 23, 1998 related to rural land ended with the Soubré department, in the South Western part of Cote d’Ivoire. This was reported by Abidjan.net.
The campaign gathered teams from the management of the rural land office and send them through 17 departments (Sikensi, Divo, Tiassalé, Bouaké, Béoumi, Aboisso, Korhogo, Katiola, Daoukro, Bocanda, Tiebissou, Ferkessedougou, Boundiali, Touba and Soubré).
Aiming to inform rural populations about measures included in the act, the campaign should help Ivorian populations, land owners and agricultural operators regularize their situation with the land office.
It should also speed up local procedures for land zoning in villages as well those to issue land titles. In this framework, non-governmental organizations, prefectures and town halls fused with technicians’ efforts to get results that respond to the various challenges related to land security which the Ivorian nation presently experiences.
