(Ecofin Agency) - At a press conference held last Monday in Libreville, Gabon’s Prime Minister in charge of Urbanism, Social Housing, Bruno Ben Moubamba, said he launched a housing audit to draw out and neutralize all land “gravediggers” (scavengers) in Gabon. The intiative will be be followed by law suits.
“We confirm having launched a housing audit to identify the responsibilities of each and everyone in the wreck we experience in housing, urbanism and social housing sectors of our country. When the time comes, the Public Ministry will receive the results of the audit and will be free to proceed to the necessary law suits,” the Minister said, Gabon Actu reports.
The website revealed that close to 800 social housings, built by the State via public-private partnerships, are illegally occupied.
