(Ecofin Agency) - Tunisian parliamentarians enacted July 17, with an absolute majority, a bill against illicit enrichment and conflicts of interest in the public sector. This law which is designed to tighten the fight against corruption should be promulgated shortly.
“This law is a revolution as it will allow the nation to control illegally acquired properties,” PM Youssef Chaded told Tunis Afrique Presse. According to the President of the National Assembly, Mohamed Naceur, who hailed the move, this law marks “a new step forward in the fight against corruption, for transparency and the protection of public funds”.
