(Ecofin Agency) - It is time African accounting and finance experts contribute to the fight against corruption. This was the key point of the speech delivered by Senegal’s minister in charge of budget Birima Mangara (photo) during the 8^th African Accounting and Finance Conference (September 5-7, 2018).

 “As accounting and finance experts, you know the motives and consequences of corruption and, you have the duty to develop mechanisms and arrangements which contribute to the fight against this scourge and its related crimes”, the official said to the participants according to a statement reported by Le Quotidien.

He also invited the African Accounting & Finance Association (AAFA) to "step up efforts to find scientific remedies to help reduce corruption in the continent”.
