(Ecofin Agency) - Richelle Bielle, chairman of CFAO’s board said the company decided to prioritize its Ivorian brewery project which should be completed next year. The executive made the announcement after meeting with Cote d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister, Daniel Kablan Duncan.
“The CFAO group, besides the Marcory project with Carrefour, is also building various malls in Cote d’Ivoire. However, the most urgent project regards the construction of a new brewery, “Brasse Ivoire”, which we discussed about with the Prime Minister,” said Bielle who indicated that 700 direct jobs would be created in the framework of the project. To develop this project, CFAO partnered with Heineken.
Regarding his group’s vision for Cote d’Ivoire, Richard Bielle said: “Cote d’Ivoire with its developing economy holds a central place in the sub-region. The country facilitates investment and CFAO intends to ride on this tide”
CFAO or Compagnie Française de l’Afrique Occidentale, is a French retailer active in the car, pharmaceutical, food and consumer goods industries.
