(Ecofin Agency) - Coca-Cola will re-acquire shares of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) in Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), Africa’s leading soft drinks bottler. The operation is possible for the Atlanta-based firm since SABMiller bought AB InBev.
According to information released by Coca-Cola, talks will be initiated soon and should end smoothly in the coming months. The giant will negotiate with various potential partners for new franchise agreements related to CCBA.
So far, Coca-Cola held 11.3% of CCBA and SABMiller was its majority shareholder with a 57% stake, while remaining shares were held by the Gutsche family.
Established in 2014, CCBA bottles Coca-Cola’s output in twelve countries in eastern and southern Africa, Reuters said.
