(Ecofin Agency) - On June 15 and 16, the US’ justice sector support programme in Cote d’Ivoire, ProJustice-USAID, organized a training session on land legislation for Ivorian lawyers. The session was themed “Land rights in Cote d’Ivoire: Accessibility and related litigations”.
On the occasion, topics covered included rights to urban and rural land, costs required to acquire State domains, litigations related to rights to urban and rural lands.
During the workshop, participants were able to strengthen their knowledge of the laws in place in relation to public domain occupation, as well as regulation relating to the conservation of land tenure, mortgages and management of public land rights.
Lawyers that attended the session also took part to discussions about modes of acquisition of lands in rural areas and land title issuing processes.
