(Ecofin Agency) - Saudi energy developer Acwa Power plans, next year, to commission in Morocco four power plants having a combined capacity of 640MW, le 360.ma reports.
In details, the firm will deliver Noor II, a 200MW thermodynamic solar power plant, by the end of March 2018. There is also Noor III, with a capacity of 150MW, which will be delivered at the end of the year.
The three PV power plants falling under the Noor PV1 programme and totaling a capacity of 170MW, will also come online in the first quarter of the year.
Finally, the group develops in Tangiers also, a 120MW wind power plant to supply the region’s industrial sector. This infrastructure is expected in March 2018.
Acwa Power which has already started developing most of these plants, plans next year, to make a major investment, valued at about $4 billion, in renewable energy projects. This investment will spread across Morocco, Egypt, Jordan and Dubai.
